A KIDDERMINSTER business has been boosted by funding and business support available in Worcestershire.

Doug Anderson and Claire Whiteman-Haywood joined the Enterprising Worcestershire scheme offered by Worcestershire County Council and partners, which include district councils, that helps support start-up and growing businesses.

Working in the industry since 2009, DAP spotted a need for a company offering both commercial photography and promotional video, with specialist qualities in both areas. One of their aims for their new business for this year was to improve their presence online and through print.

Mr Anderson, principal photographer and partner at DAP photography, said: “We wanted to set out targets and have some structure but did not know how to achieve this, so we looked for some mentoring and guidance.”

He found out about Enterprising Worcestershire at a FinditinWorcestershire meeting, where the Worcestershire Business Central team talked him through the help available to businesses like DAP.

Bob Harrington, business relationship executive, met Mr Anderson soon after he started the programme and supported his grant application.

He said: "I am delighted that DAP, together with other businesses across Worcestershire, are benefiting from the services available through Worcestershire Business Central.

“The county council has an increasing number of opportunities, like Enterprising Worcestershire, for businesses.

“I have access to these and other wider schemes and can assist businesses to find the right type of funding, skills or training packages that can help them develop and grow.”

DAP photography & video received 15 hours of business support and a grant of £1,000, which has helped it buy equipment, which meant it could expand its services.
