TWO Wyre Forest schools have been raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
A group of year 10 students from Wolverley CE Secondary School held a coffee morning at High Habberley Care Home in Kidderminster.
The students and staff baked a variety of cakes to sell to residents and visitors at the care home.
They also delivered cakes to the residents who were unable to join the coffee morning.
Adrian Hobday, access centre manager at Wolverley CE Secondary, said: “It was a pleasure to see how well the students interacted with the residents and they certainly brought plenty of smiles to their faces.”
More than £50 was raised during the morning.
Year two pupils took part in a coffee morning at Burlish Park Primary School in Stourport where they raised £200.
Year two teacher Kerry Bryan said: “The children worked really hard designing posters, writing invitations and making decorations in preparation for the event.
“The event links with the year two topic happy and healthy in which the children are learning all about Florence Nightingale and the work of nurses today.”
