A TRUSTEE of a Wyre Forest charity that provides transport for the elderly and disabled has died.
Roy Quinn, a trustee and supporter of Dial-a-Ride, died suddenly while out shopping in Kidderminster last Friday, aged 70.
Mr Quinn, of The Deansway, was a volunteer minibus driver with the service before becoming a trustee and taking up an active role in the fund-raising and administration of the charity.
He attended a presentation ceremony where Dial-a-Ride was presented with a Mike Oborski No Barriers Award - which highlights organisations across Wyre Forest that make life easier for disabled people - in October.
Together with his wife Sheila, Mr Quinn represented Dial-A-Ride at a number of public events to help raise awareness of the service . He was also an active church member.
Nigel Caldicott, Dial-a-Ride manager, said: “This is a great shock to everyone who knew Roy. He was an accomplished ambassador for Dial-A- Ride who was willing to do all that he could to promote our work in the community. He will be greatly missed.”
