A KIDDERMINSTER care home is opening its doors to the public as it takes part in National Care Home Open Day.

Brook Court, in Oldnall Road, is inviting people to take a look around the home as it aims to connect residents with their communities as well as change the perception of care homes.

Linda Clements, home manager, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming members of the public to Brook Court.

“Some people do still have misconceptions about care homes and it is, therefore, necessary to dispel any myths and to demystify everyday life in a care home.

We are very proud of Brook Court and we are keen to take the opportunity to showcase everything the care home has to offer and the difference it makes to our residents’ lives.”

The day will offer the opportunity for members of the public to take part in a range of activities at the home, including a raffle, tombola and face painting.

Mrs Clements added: “We have set out to create a fun and entertaining event for the local community, as well as our residents and their families, and we hope members of the public will join us for what promises to be a memorable day.”

It’s open to the public between 11am and 4pm on Saturday.
