A SUMMER fete featuring demonstrations of canine agility and obedience will be held in support of the Forest Dog Rescue charity.

The event on Sunday, August 17 from 11am to 4pm at Green Gap Kennels on the A4117 Cleobury Road in Far Forest will please animal lovers with fun dog shows and activities provided by Central Ferret Welfare and Hall Green Greyhounds.

For sporty visitors there will be archery and taekwondo activities, while for younger children face painting and net-a-duck games will provide entertainment.

There will also be farmers’ market, craft and plant stalls, a tombola and raffle and refreshments including cakes and ice creams.

Wendy Squires, secretary of Forest Dog Rescue, said: “It will be a wonderful fun day out for all the family.”

Entrants are asked to make a donation to the charity.

Forest Dog Rescue, which is based at Green Gap Kennels in Far Forest, provides much needed care and a safe haven to unwanted, abandoned and mistreated dogs from across Wyre Forest and also helps to re-home them.
