RESIDENTS at a Stourport care home donned their finest pink attire to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

On Friday October 24, Ravenhurst Residential Care Home, Stourport-on-Severn, was a sea of pink when residents and the team raided their wardrobes in return for a £1 donation to the Worcestershire Breast Cancer Unit Campaign and Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer.

As well as pink clothing, there were pink tutus, hats as well as themed cupcakes which were decorated with pink iced bras.

Carla Siwicki, activities leader at the home, said: “We had so much fun raising money for such great causes.

“There were lots of smiles and our gents in particular looked very dapper in their pink shirts.”

The Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign aims to raise £1.8 million to fund the establishment of a new, dedicated Breast Unit at Worcestershire Royal Hospital for use by women and men across the county.

Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer was established in 2000 and has raised over £1 million for the Cancer Unity at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
