A LOCAL community choir have helped the Mentor Link charity boost their fundraising after their Winter Wonderland Christmas Concert.

Got 2 Sing held the event at St Mary’s Church, Kidderminster on Saturday night (December 6) and raised £520 for the charity.

The charity was invited to join the Bewdley members of the choir at the concert to promote the work the charity does in the local community and raise further funds with a raffle.

The choir, made up of 75 members, sang an array of songs from traditional carols to contemporary numbers to an audience of over 200.

Andrea Maddocks, founder and CEO of Mentor Link, said: “A very big thank you to everyone from the choir and the audience who supported this wonderful event and for supporting our invaluable one to one work with children.”

Founded in 2002, Mentor Link is dedicated to supporting children and young people in distress by providing them with a volunteer mentor or councillor.

Beth Dunn, founder and director of Got 2 Sing, said: “We were delighted to be able to support Mentor Link in raising much-needed funds for this local and invaluable initiative.

“It was a wonderful evening and I could think of no better setting than the beautiful St Mary’s Church in Kidderminster.”
