FIGURES have revealed that more than £900,000 of National Lottery funding was invested in Wyre Forest projects last year alone.
Across the area, 30 grants were awarded last year; benefitting local arts, sports and heritage projects alongside community groups helping those most in need.
Grants were awarded to a wide range of projects in 2014, including £250,000 to Home Start Wyre Forest to support its work providing mentors for vulnerable families with children under five.
The Severn Valley Railway Charitable Trust were awarded £95,000 to complete restoration of the 9930 Hagley Hall steam locomotive and £25,000 was given to Far Forest Tennis Club for floodlighting for two pitches to enable year-round use.
Wyre Forest projects that have received lottery funding, now have the possibility of gaining national recognition through entering the National Lottery Awards 2015.

The awards have seven categories to reflect the range of areas that the Lottery funds – sport, heritage, arts, environment, health, education and voluntary/charity.
