KIDDERMINSTER and District Lions Club have donated lifesaving equipment to the Kidderminster Cricket Club, in Chester Road.
The state of the art life saving defibrillator will be accessible to all using the Chester Road Sports Club. Dave Rowley, from West Midlands Ambulance Service gave his free time to train 23 people in how to use the defibrillator.
Ron Cross, Lions president, said that the Kidderminster and District Lions Club were pleased to be able to support the Chester Road Club with this life saving equipment.
Mr Rowley said: “The group was very enthusiastic and they got a lot from the training. One day, one of them might save a life.
“I would encourage as many groups and organisations as possible to consider getting a defibrillator.
“For every hour someone is in cardiac arrest their chance of survival reduces by ten per cent. The more of these devices we can get into communities, the better.”
