ITS full steam ahead for Wyre Forest CAMRA’s three-day Kidderminster Beer Festival when it arrives at the Town Hall in May.

This year’s Campaign for Real Ale’s (CAMRA) event’s featured beers will all have a Railway theme to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Severn Valley Railway.

There will be up to 60 beers and 15 ciders. As well as an embarrassment of riches from the local breweries, there will be beers from across the country with a railway theme, plus ciders, perries and wines from local cider makers and vineyards. Hot food and snacks will be available, as well as soft drinks for designated drivers.

The festival will start on Thursday, May 21, at 4pm for CAMRA members and invited landlords and brewers, and opens to the public from 6pm.On Friday, May 22, the festival will open from 11am to 11pm and the evening will feature plenty of lively music and entertainment.

On Saturday, May 23, there’s a Tutored Beer Tasting for anyone who wishes to know a little more about their favourite hoppy malty beverage. It will be open from 11am to 9pm.

Entrance will be by the purchase of a £10 beer kit, made up of a £2 refundable deposit on a souvenir festival glass, £8 worth of beer tokens for CAMRA members and £6 in beer tokens for non-members.
