Hilary Myers won the nomination today to be the Liberal Candidate for Redditch at the May 2015 General Election.

Hilary follows in the footsteps of Nicholas Lane, who gained 7,750 votes in 2010.

Hilary, who is 58, lived in Yorkshire for over 20 years, where she brought up her family, and ran a successful mental health charity in Greater Manchester. She chaired a school governing body and was a borough councillor. In the 2010 General Election she was the Liberal Democrat candidate for Calder Valley in West Yorkshire. She left Yorkshire about a year ago and moved to the West Midlands.

Local Party chair Diane Thomas said today: ‘’Hilary Myers is a big asset to Redditch. She strongly impressed the selection committee, and local people can count on her to fight for them.’’ Hilary Myers said today: ‘’I am very pleased to be selected as your parliamentary candidate. Redditch needs a clear voice of sensible politics. I stand on exactly the issues that most people stand on – fairness, jobs, the N.H.S., keeping taxes down especially for the low paid and building a society where everyone looks out for everyone else.
