A WYRE Forest secondary school is calling out for any unwanted bedding plants, shrubs or climbers to help students transform the grounds into a sea of colour this summer.
Wolverley CE Secondary School are asking for a variety of plants in different sizes and colours, which will be planted and cared for by the students to encourage them to think about their surroundings.
The planting area will be divided into four separate spaces with each college in the school being responsible for their own section.
Bryn Thomas, headteacher at the school, said: "We like to encourage the students to take pride in their surroundings, whether in or out of school, so this project is designed to help them to take ownership of a particular space. As well as creating a design and planting scheme, the students will also take care of their area and will be responsible for the weeding and watering.
"If anyone in the local community, or nurseries and garden centres, have plants or cuttings they are able to donate, they will be gratefully received. We would gladly welcome back to the school anyone who donates a plant so the can see the area they have helped the students to transform."
Donations can be taken to the school in Blakeshall Lane, Wolverley
Alternatively, the school can be contacted about making a donation of plants on 01562 859800.
