PICTURESQE gardens in Hartlebury were the inspiration for a TV makeover by celebrity horticulturist Alan Titchmarsh.
The popular TV star visited Whitlenge Gardens to look for ideas to help transform an area, belonging to a recently widowed mum and her three children in Walsall, for the first episode of his series ‘Love Your Garden’.
Alan visited Whitlenge, which have been developed over the last 30 years by garden designer and landscaper Keith Southall of Creative Landscapes, and spent a day filming as he gathered inspiration.
The gardens have a large variety of design ideas that relate to any garden large or small.
The requirements for the programme were how to soften a blank brick wall and how to create a safe water feature
Fran Southall, from Creative Landscapes, said: “It was a marvellous days filming with Alan and the team, the sun shone and Alan and Keith talked plants for hours.
“The transformation of the garden in Walsall was a great success and a very moving episode.”
