A KIDDERMINSTER mother has thanked the Shuttle and its readers in helping trace her son's beloved cuddly toy, after they were reunited earlier today.

Teresa Chandler thanked readers after revealing Edward's cuddly husky toy had been found with a family last Thursday evening (August 13).

Mrs Chandler said: "It's official. Husky has been found safe and sound.

"I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who shared the post and the huge amount of kindness and love that has been shown. Edward is one very lucky boy.

"Thank you to the Shuttle and the readers for all their help, we really are overwhelmed.

"Husky was found with a family in Birmingham, whose relatives in Kidderminster told her about it, as none of them have Facebook."

Edward had attended an appointment at Birmingham Children's Hospital on Friday, August 7, and had taken his husky teddy along. However, on the train home, he realised he had left the toy on a bench at Birmingham Snow Hill station.

The family went back to the station, but the teddy had gone by the time they returned.

Edward was reunited with his husky today (Wednesday) and his mother had kept it a secret to see his reaction.

She added: "We went to the station this morning and had a huge surprise.

"The staff at London Midland presented Edward with gifts of huskies and sweets. We are so overwhelmed by people's kindness.

"We then went to meet Jo, the lady who found husky, and exchanged him for another teddy for her little girl.

"Edward is beyond happy; he was welling up, jumping for joy.

"Thank you to all that helped in the search for Edward's much-loved friend. He certainly won't be going on any trips again."
