KIDDERMINSTER Freemasons are opening their doors to the public this weekend as part of the national Heritage Weekend.
Visitors will be shown round the splendid Masonic Hall, which adjoins the Chester Road Sports and Social Club, between 11am and 4pm on both days.
Several lodges meet at the centre and the town’s Masons are keen to explode some of the myths about the organisation such as the common conception that it is a secret society who look only after fellow Masons.
“Apart from the Lottery, no other organisation gives more to charity than we do,” said a member of the organisation.
The Kidderminster Freemasons will be openly talking about their movement, the symbolism, and more, of the Freemasons when they open their doors on Saturday and Sunday (September 12 and 13).
Families are welcome and men can find out about how to join.
