A KIDDERMINSTER woman took to the skies and raised more than £1,000 for a mental health charity.

Dani Millward took part in a tandem skydive on Sunday, August 30, in order to raise money for Mind, a charity very close to her heart.

She said: “I am thrilled and proud to announce that I have raised £1,361 thanks to the incredible support from family, friends and acquaintances.

“My mother has bipolar disorder and Mind has really helped her in many ways, including the various leaflets and books they supply.

“Mental health affects one in four people each year and this charity is working wonders to break the stigma against it.

“I felt this was the least I could to support the charity which has made a difference to my family and I."

Dani said she was overjoyed to have raised such a significant amount for the charity that means so much to her family.

She added: “It was such an amazing experience. I am not afraid of heights but I was very nervous to begin with.

“Jumping out of the plane and free-falling was so exhilarating and something that I am very proud to have done.

“I originally wanted to raise £600 for Mind, so raising double that amount is just incredible and something I never thought would be possible.

“I am thrilled to have raised such a significant amount for the charity.”

Dani set up a JustGiving page to collect donations for Mind, which is still open. You can donate on justgiving.com/DaniMillwardSkydive.
