A DRUG addict pleaded guilty to stealing food from two Kidderminster supermarkets to fund his habit.
Andrew Hart took £57 worth of food from Tesco on May 14 and £47.85 of meat from Iceland on June 3, prosecutor Leslie Ashton said.
In mitigation, Fergus Maxwell said the 33-year-old said he took the items to fund his drug addiction.
Hart, of Whitley Close, Kidderminster, pleaded guilty to two counts of theft when he appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday, September 24.
Chairman of the magistrates Richard Packer sentenced him to a compensation order, ordering him to pay the stores back for the items, and also imposed a £150 court charge and £85 in prosecution costs.
