A CONMAN who was jailed after posing as a Formula One team boss to dupe hotels in Wyre Forest will face trial later this year accused of breaching the terms of his sex offenders registration.
Stuart Howatson, of Fisher Road, Bishops Itchington, Warwickshire, has denied two counts failing to comply with notification requirements under the sex offenders register.
The first charge relates to him staying at an address in Sandbourne Drive, Bewdley, for more than seven nights in October last year without registering the address as he was required to do so.
He is also faces a charge of failed to make his periodic notification between August 21 and 23 last year following his last notification on August 20 2014.
The 37-year-old appeared before Kidderminster Magistrates, via video link from prison, on Thursday March 3 where the date for his trial was set for June 7 at Worcester Magistrates’ Court.
Last week, the Shuttle reported that Howatson was jailed for two years admitting 12 charges of fraud and one of theft.
Coventry Crown Court heard how Howatson had posed as the chief operations officer of the Mercedes Benz Formula One racing team to run up bills in hotels, acquire computer systems and software and steal £1,500 from a man he met at one of the hotels.
