TRACK-based transport great and small plus an eggs-citing children’s quiz will be on offer at the Severn Valley Railway this Easter.

Visitors can enjoy an exciting trip through the springtime scenery of the Severn Valley on one of SVR’s heritage steam trains, which will be taking passengers along the line throughout the holidays, between Friday, March 25, and Sunday, April 10.

To experience steam strains on a slightly smaller scale, the Coalyard Miniature Railway at Kidderminster will be operating most days, weather permitting.

Passengers will be able to catch the Easter Eggspress to the Engine House Visitor Centre at Highley, where a range of fun activities is on offer.

Over Easter weekend, children can pick-up a quiz sheet and spot the Easter-themed clues hidden around the Engine House. Each correctly completed sheet handed in will earn youngsters a suitably tasty Easter treat.

A special display will be starring at the Engine House this Easter as the Manchester Model Tramway Group brings its 120ft-long, miniature tramway, between April 2 and 10, and then again on April 16 and 17. The intricate layout features working model trams, complete with realistic details and authentic sound effects.

Clare Gibbard, marketing and communications manager, said: “There is lots to see and do this Easter holiday, from enjoying a steam train ride on one of our heritage locomotives, to exploring our new, fun exhibits and taking a ride on the miniature railway, there’s plenty of entertainment to be had, whatever the weather.”
