A SPOOK-tacular annual fundraising event will take place later this year to help raise vital funds for a Kidderminster hospice.

Kemp Hospice will be hosting its popular Halloween Walk event around Wyre Forest on Saturday, October 29.

A children’s walk will be followed by a new adult Halloween Walk from 9pm as organisers look to add to the £15,000 that has been raised through the event over the years.

Both walks are sponsored by Oakleaf Commercial Services, who have just embarked on a five year corporate partnership with Kemp.

The partnership will involve all aspects of fundraising, along with community projects and raising awareness of Kemp’s free services.

Shelley Stanley, Challenge and Events Fundraiser at Kemp said: “We are very excited about the new twist to our Halloween Walk with the addition of an Adult’s only Walk.

“We are looking for teams of friends, colleague, and family members to dress up in Halloween costumes for the three mile ‘Trail of Terror’ around the woods at night.

“We have some surprises planned along the way to keep everyone on their toes with some help from theatre students at Kidderminster College! It’s not to be missed.”

She said team registration forms can be found on the website and registration is £15 per adult to include Halloween themed Cocktail and snacks, Halloween games and disco. The best dressed team on the night will win a prize.

She added that all previous children’s walks have sold out very quickly and this year will again see a total of 300 places available across three time slots of 4pm, 5.30pm and 7pm.

As well as the walk, youngsters will be able to enjoy Halloween games, a mini disco, a visit to the ‘Gruffalo’ withy a spooky story and refreshments. Registration costs £5 and each child is asked to raise sponsorship for Kemp.
