COURSES designed to improve health and well-being have been launched at Kidderminster Library.

Sessions include a Mindfulness short course tackling mental awareness and health, Tai Chi to improve physical activity and a drug and alcohol awareness class.

The three courses, which start in September, aim to help residents take control of their well-being to prevent problems later in life, while also having an immediate, positive impact.

Juilette Matczak, Kidderminster Library Customer Advisor, said: "If you are thinking about tackling one of these issues then gaining a better understanding with one of our courses is a great way to get started.

"You can develop the skills and get the knowledge you need to take control of your health and well-being in the comforting and friendly environment at Kidderminster Library."

Councillor Lucy Hodgson added: "The vision for Worcestershire residents from our Health and Well-being Board is a future where we are healthier, live longer, and have a better quality of life.

"These courses perfectly reflect our three key priorities improving mental health; increasing physical activity and reducing the harm caused by alcohol."

A Level 1 Award in British Sign Language is also available, allowing visitors to learn how to communicate and gain a national qualification.

You can take part in these courses at Kidderminster Library and other libraries in the county.

The cost varies and some courses offer discounts to learners who receive Universal Credit.
