A PEDESTRIAN who was hit by a car in Stourport last week has died.

Steven Jones was hit by a Vauxhall Zafira near to the traffic lights in Worcester Street at around 4.20pm on Tuesday, December 6.

Mr Jones, from Highley, was taken to hospital for treatment but sadly died yesterday (December 14).

The 51-year-old was a father of four and a grandfather of one.

"We would continue to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision and who have not yet spoke to police to please come forward."

A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving in connection with the incident and has been released on police bail until January 23.

West Mercia Police officers would also like to speak to the occupants of a small transit van and the occupants of a small light-coloured car, who may be able to assist with enquiries.
