A FIRE in a basement chute has been extinguished in Kidderminster this afternoon (Saturday, February 25).
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service’s red watch crew from the town’s fire station attended the blaze in New Road at 12.28pm.
The crew were alerted to smoke coming from a cellar grate which had been caused by refuse alight in the chute, and extinguished the flames with a hose reel.
