A KIDDERMINSTER-based film company are seeking more local cast and crew members to join their successful operation.

The Community Broadcast Company (CBC) has recently finished the shoot for their short film: ‘Yesterday’s Mistake’ and the first in their two part series designed to influence positive social change.

The company is now recruiting for cast and crew for the second part of their exciting project. Filming at the end of May and early June, the theme of the second film is anti-domestic abuse.

There are active roles available both in front of and behind the camera and no prior experience is necessary as workshops will take place to teach those involved the necessary media skills to prepare them for the film shoots during which they will be supported by professional crew.

An open day will be held on Thursday, May 18 with two sessions at 11am and 2pm at their offices in Youth House, Bromsgrove Street in Kidderminster.

People who are unemployed from Worcestershire and are interested can attend to find out more and have an informal chat.

During the project, agreed travel expenses will be covered and refreshments will be provided during the workshops and film shoots.

CBC received funding from Worcestershire County Council’s ‘Community Learning Fund’ to enable them to offer out of work people living in Worcestershire places within their project with the aim of giving them experience to add to their CVs.

Sachia Mooney, Producer, said: “We are delighted with how our project has captured peoples’ creative side. We have had a variety of learners sign up to the project – some with experience and some without– but the commitment and passion from all involved has been humbling. We can’t wait to get going on the next film.”

Sarah Cambridge, one of their learners said: “The film project has been a fantastic opportunity to work in a field I actually am very interested in, knew something about and have now learned even more.

“Being involved has also been a great way to meet new people and work with them to achieve a common goal. My daughter was also able to be involved in the cast and it was lot of fun for the whole family.”
