A VAN ploughed into a house in the Gilgal, in Stourport on Tuesday evening (July 11).

Emergency service crews were called to the scene in the Gilgal at around 9.30pm on July 11, following reports that a van had crashed into two of the properties.

Residents on social media reported that the vehicle involved fled the scene after the collision. 

A West Mercia Police spokesman said: "The incident involved a white Land Rover which had collided with a residential property.

"Emergency services were in attendance, and investigations are currently on-going.

"Officers put a road closure in place upon Gilgal, which was later removed at around 10:20pm that evening."

Firefighters from Stourport, Kidderminster and Droitwich were called to the scene and isolated the gas and electrics.

A spokesman from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service added that National Grid were requested to attend the scene.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said no one at the scene was treated for injuries.

An ambulance and a paramedic support officer attended the scene.

Police are appealing for anyone who has yet to come forward and may have information regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident.
