POLICE are appealing for information after a teenager was assaulted on a bus in Kidderminster.

The 15-year-old was attacked on the number 3 Diamond bus, travelling from Kidderminster town centre towards the Birchen Coppice estate on Friday, June 30.

At around 2:55pm the boy was sitting on the bus, when it is reported that a man approached him.

The man is believed to have spoken to the boy, and then assaulted him by hitting him over the head.

He then left the bus, near to the Foley Park Tesco's store.

The victim did not suffer any serious injuries, but was left shaken by the incident.

Police say the man was described as being in his 50s, white, around 5ft 10ins tall and of a slim build.

He had long, grey hair and a small amount of grey stubble, wearing a pair of black or brown jean and a big, dark, waist length jacket.

PC Ian Heeks of West Mercia Police, said: "We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public's assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

"I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed and has information regarding the incident, and in particular appeal for the man described to come forward.

Anyone with information should call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident reference number 479s of June 30.
