SUPPORTERS of Acorns Children’s Hospice swapped their day jobs for a Stourport catwalk to raise hundreds for the charity.

A fashion show was held at M&Co last week that saw friends and family of hospice volunteers modelling a host of men’s, women’s and children’s outfits.

The event was attended by more than 90 people and helped raise almost £900.

In addition to ticket sales, funds were raised via a raffle, with prizes donated by businesses and organisations from around Kidderminster and Stourport.

It was organised by Sheila Law, an Acorns Volunteer and member of the recently launched Acorns Support Group for North Worcestershire.

She said: “This is the second year that M&Co in Stourport has supported Acorns, and we are once again thrilled with the turnout at another successful fashion show.

“As well as the professional organisation of the event, Heather and the team at M&Co showed a real passion for fundraising for Acorns, and we thank them for their support in helping us raise such a fantastic amount.

“We also want to say thank you to our ‘model’ volunteers, many of whom returned to the catwalk after taking part in previous events.

“While we had a lot of fun, the serious message is that Acorns relies on fundraising events like these to provide much needed resources for families in the region.”
