SEVEN men who were arrested in Kidderminster on Friday as part of an on-going investigation into organised drug crime activities have been released under investigation.

The men were arrested after warrants were executed at a number of addresses in Kidderminster on Friday morning (September 29).

A spokesman for West Mercia Police confirmed on Monday (October 2) that all seven men had been released under investigation.

Three men, aged 42, 35 and 27 from Kidderminster, were arrested on suspicion of conspiring to supply Class A drugs.

A 34-year-old man from Kidderminster was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to supply Class A drugs and possession of controlled drugs.

Three men, aged 44, 19 and 19 from Kidderminster, were arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled drugs.

West Mercia Police Detective Chief Inspector Mel Paley said: "I would like to reassure the community that illegal drug use is a matter that we take very seriously.

"It is our priority to protect people from harm and bring offenders to justice.

"Tackling illegal drugs supplies significantly helps us to achieve this.

"It is not only illegal to buy and sell drugs, but it can also be very dangerous.

"We are urging the public not to be tempted to take illegal drugs - you don't really know what they are made of, where they have come from or what effect they may have on you.

"It could be fatal."

She added: "West Mercia Police is committed to take action when information about the supply of drugs is given to us by the public.

"We would encourage anyone who has information about the supply of illegal substances to contact us."
