RAMBLERS ASSOCIATION - The group will be having a 5.5 mile walk around Clun starting from the community car park on Sunday. Meet at 10am at New Road car park, Kidderminster, and take a packed lunch. UNIVERSITY OF THE THIRD AGE - The second AGM was held on October 15. Numbers continue to rise and there are many more interest groups on offer and in the pipeline. After the business meeting the entertainment was once again provided by Dorothy Capper with her lists.

The next meeting will be held on November 19 at St Ambrose Church Hall, Leswell Street, Kidderminster.

FORESTERS - Members travelled to Solihull for the annual regional ball.

President Ian Davenport received a Stampede trophy for the collection of used postage stamps. The branch were helped by running a competition among local schools; the recent winners being Far Forest School and St John's Primary, Kidderminster.

Forester Bob Forbes of Stourport, a member for over 40 years received Forester of the Year Award for his service and commitment to Foresters. There was further success when Pauline Smith of Evesham was awarded Fraternalist of the year for her work as a childminder, involvement with an adventure playground and being a member of the branch's charity committee.

A tombola, table draw and car draw on the evening raised more than £2,900 for the Association of Children's Hospices.

HISTORICAL RESEARCH GROUP - The next meeting will take place on Saturday, November 10 at Kidderminster Library from 2pm. Chairman Gay Hill will be giving a talk on ancestral piles: researching the history of buildings'. All are welcome. There is an entry fee and refreshments are included.

The group's final family history surgery will take place on Saturday, November 17 at Kidderminster Library from 1pm to 4pm. Everyone is welcome to drop in for free family history advice.

BRITISH SUGARCRAFT GUILD - The branch will be holding its monthly meeting at Stourport Community Centre, Lickhill Road, Stourport, on November 8 at 7.30pm when Di Brothwell will be demonstrating sugar flowers as requested by members.

Di is an experienced demonstrator who is always willing to share knowledge.

Visitors are always welcome to attend meetings held on the second Thursday of each month. Help and advice is on hand for beginners and a supply of hints and tips for the more advanced. Free tea and biscuits are served at the end of the meetings.
