A WOMAN in her 80s has been targeted by bogus officials Police are appealing for information following the incident, in Sion Avenue, Kidderminster, yesterday.

Two men went to the address, at about 11am and claimed they were from the council but did not shown any form of identification.

The pair were in a silver BMW four door car and one of the men entered the house and said he needed to look at pipes before checking under the sink.

The men are described as white - one had a tanned face - and were both of medium or stocky build and about 5'10" to 6'ft tall.

Both were smartly dressed, one was wearing a light coloured jacket with a shirt underneath, open at the neck, the other was wearing a black leather jacket with dark trousers. They were about 45 years old.

Nothing was taken from the address and the matter has been crimed as an attempt distraction burglary.

A Kidderminster police spokesperson said: "We believe the offenders saw a visitor leave the victim's house and the victim was clearly visible as she waved off her guest.

"The householder is clearly vulnerable because of her age."
