A MAN has been ordered to pay hundreds of pounds after assaulting a police officer and damaging a cell.
James King, of Atcham Close, Redditch, admitted being drunk and disorderly at Market Place in the town centre on Saturday, July 15.
On the same day, he also assaulted a police officer and damaged a cell wall and detention clothing to the value of £270.00 at Kidderminster Police Station.
The 24-year-old pleaded guilty to the offences when he appeared at Worcester Justice Centre earlier this month on August 1.
In total, he was ordered to pay compensation of £370 and was fined £92.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £185 and a surcharge of £144.
He must participate in rehabilitation activities and complete 120 hours of unpaid work.
The defendant's guilty pleas were taken into account when he was sentenced.
