STAFF and residents at a Kidderminster care home have launched a new monthly pudding club.

The idea at Barchester’s Hollyfields Care Home, Habberley Road, is for everyone to come along for a cup of tea and a catch-up while trying out different types of puddings.

Residents and staff came up with the idea to launch the club.

Each month they get together to talk about their favourite puddings, past and present, and decide what they are going to serve that month.

The home’s cook Sarah Finch helps the residents to prepare the puddings, both old-fashioned and new recipes, so everyone gets to try a range of different ones.

Family members, friends and members of the community are all invited to attend and bring puddings to share too if they wish.

General manager Alison Moseley-Shaw said: “The pudding club will be a huge success, our residents absolutely love all puddings.

"We are so lucky to have Sarah, she is such a wonderful cook and she helps us make all the delicious puddings.

"The club is going from strength to strength, we’re very much looking forward to February’s session – everyone is welcome to join us.

"The next session will be on February 26, we have the mayor of Bewdley attending to come try our fabulous puddings.

"Please check out our Facebook page for details.”

This event is open to the public.

Hollyfields is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers.

It provides nursing, residential and respite care.
