A man remains in hospital with serious injuries following a fatal crash which claimed the lives of a six-year-old boy and two women.

The horror crash happened on the A44 Spetchley Road in Worcester at around 3.07pm on Thursday, February 22.

Six-year-old Leo Painter and two women, aged 26 and 39, died when a grey BMW 3 series collided with the white Ford Mondeo they were travelling in.

Despite efforts from paramedics, the female driver and a woman accompanying Leo were both pronounced dead at the scene. Leo was rushed to Worcestershire Royal Hospital but died a short time later.

Leo's mum Gemma has since paid tribute to her son with a GoFundMe set up by her friends in his memory.

She said: "Leo was a wonderful little boy. He always had a smile on his face and was a bundle of fun. I’m heartbroken that I won’t see him again."

Two men, both occupants of the BMW, were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with serious injuries.

The passenger has since been discharged but the other man remains in hospital with serious injuries.

In an update, a spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "One man remains in hospital with serious injuries.

"We are still appealing for anybody else to come forward if they witnessed the collision."
