EIGHT girls from Kidderminster Lions Under 16s will represent the football club at the Gothia World Youth Cup in Sweden in July.
The girls, who play in the Central Warwickshire Youth League Premier Division, will face teams from all over the world at the highly-competitive four-day festival. They will play up a year in the under 18s section.
Their Lions team manager Steve Reynolds said: "It’s a proud moment to be able to get players from my squad over to Sweden and play in such a prestigious event.
"The event will see 58,000 people attend the opening ceremony on July 14 where all teams will be in attendance along with supporters, scouts and family."
Lacey Dixon, Keeley Crew, Millie Carr, Chloe Pernet, Sumreena Gill, Emily Whiteman, Poppy Mole and Chanelle Ward will be attending.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise funds for the trip at www.gofundme.com/f/5-x-kiddy-lionesses-to-play-in-world-youth-cup
