THE hunt is on for the driver of a car who hit a teenager walking in the road and fled.

Police said a car collided with a pedestrian in Wolverley when they were walking on the road on Church Bank where there is no footpath.

The driver of the car, which has been described as a gold Vauxhall Corsa, hit the pedestrian and then left the scene immediately.

The 15-year-old pedestrian was not injured during the incident, which happened at around 3.25pm on Monday, February 26.

Officers investigating the collision are now appealing for witnesses and would like to speak with the driver of the gold car who has been described as a man in his 50s.

Police said the car would have damage to the bonnet.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "If you have any information that would help locate the gold Vauxhall Corsa or have dash cam footage from around the time of the collision that would help with enquiries contact Police Constable Woolman by email christopher.woolman@westmercia.police.uk or by calling 07773050769.

"Alternatively, if you do not feel comfortable speaking with the police, information can be shared anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or by visiting www.crimestoppers-uk.org."
