Specsavers Stourport store director, Emma Singh, said: "This was a great opportunity for us to discuss the benefits of a career in optics with so many students.

"We were able to chat about the various optical career paths, whether that’s studying to become an optometrist or looking more at the retail side of the business.

"As a great alternative to university, the Specsavers apprenticeship scheme allows young people to unlock their full potential in a supportive environment.

"I’d like to encourage anyone in the local area who is interested in apprenticeships to get in touch."

She added: "We are also keen to support other schools at their careers events and would love to hear from them if they are interested in having us along to talk to their pupils about their future career progression."
