POLICE in Kidderminster have said they will destroy several e-scooters that were seized as part of a crackdown on their illegal use.
Photos shared on the Wyre Forest Police Facebook page show a number of e-scooters seized by officers in the past week.
Officers have also issued a warning for residents to make sure they are aware of the law regarding e-scooters.
On Facebook, the force said: "We are continuing to seize e-scooters across the area when they are being used illegally.
"Shown in the photographs are a few of them from the past week including five from Wednesday - these e-scooters will now be destroyed.
"Please make yourself and your family members aware of the rules".
E-scooters are classed as motor vehicles under the Road Traffic Act 1988, which means that the regulations that apply to motor vehicles also apply to e-scooters including the need to have a licence, insurance and tax.
Police reminded residents that it's not currently possible to get insurance for privately owned e-scooters, which means it's illegal to use them on the road or in public spaces.
E-scooters must only be used on private land with the landowner's permission.
