The body of a man has been found near a secondary school in Kidderminster.
West Mercia Police confirmed that they were called to Grange Road at around 6.40am today (Monday, April 8) following a report of a concern for welfare.
Sadly, a man was found dead at the scene and his next of kin have now been informed.
Officers said that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We were called to Grange Road in Kidderminster at around 6.40am this morning following a report of a concern for welfare.
"Sadly a man was found dead at the scene. Next of kin have been informed. His death is not being treated as suspicion and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
"The man’s family do not wish to name him at this time and ask that their privacy is respected."
A police cordon was in place earlier this morning along Habberley playing fields following the incident which was located near Wyre Forest School and Baxter College.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service added: "We were called to reports of a medical emergency on Habberley Road at 6.42am, two ambulances attended the scene.
"On arrival we discovered one patient, a man. Sadly, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene."
