There is ample space to build houses in Wyre Forest without resorting to Green Belt incursion. What is lacking is the supporting infrastructure and services together with a certain weariness about road excavations that new houses necessitate.Careful use of 'infil'and provision of compact units should give us scope for all the housing required by the indiginous population until 2020 or therabouts.
Of course there is the NIMBY factor but our children, those that deign to fly the nest, will require affordable homes so build we must.
Unintelligent as I must be ,I need someone to explain to me why a Developer is forced to pay 17.5%VAT on purchases of 'Brownfield'sites yet pays no VAT on purchases of 'Greenfield' sites released for building. By my logic it should be the other way around.Simple soul that I am, why is stamp duty paid by the purchaser of a house and not by the seller who is making a profit?
If it were the other way round 1st time buyers wouldn't pay stamp duty.Clearly I am missing a lot of points here;Whilst I have got this bone, why does stamp duty suddenly jump from 1% to 3%on the total price at a certain figure? Why can't SD be payable at a% on the first £100k then b% on the next £100k and c% on the oh well you get my drift, we'll all have to 'do a Mandy'
