As the row over the new industrial estate on the Worcester Road rumbles on His Lordship thought he should go and have a look at what all the fuss is about.
Corr--what a mess!!!
It is very easy to see what the locals are moaning about.
I stood in the back field on Spennels and the sheer size of these units is quite overwhelming. The closer I got the worse they looked. As you stand in the field it struck me that the two buildings were not going to be the same size. There seems to be a slight difference in the hight of the two main units which will make them look even more out of place.
This seems so unfair on the people who will be looking out onto these industrial units from their nice houses. After all these people will have invested all they have to build or buy these properties only to be let down by the council.
I am unsure what the procedure is for planning permission in a case like this. It is for sure no good the council saying that they put an advert in the paper to ask for objections. People would not notice this kind of small ad. At the very least houses that are badly affected need to be told on a direct basis by the council and the exact implication's explained. I do not think this was done or the people around would have been aware of what could happen and taken action.
This may be Worcester Road today -- it could be coming to a road near you soon!
Hard to believe that this is the same planning committee that do not want Bewdley Town Football Club to have a few spindly little floodlight pylons.
Do these people know what they are doing?
