PART of the Ring Road in Kidderminster has “substantially and progressively collapsed” causing lane closures.

Worcestershire County Council’s highways department is currently carrying out an emergency excavation on a section of Ring Road at Coventry Street roundabout.

There have been closures between Coventry Street and Comberton Hill on lane two as well as the inner lane of the Coventry Street roundabout since 9.30am this morning. They due to re-open next Tuesday.

A spokeswoman for the council, said: “The road is still open with one lane closed to motorists while we manage a substantial and progressive road collapse. We will endeavour to open the road as soon as possible.”
