TICKETS are still available for this year’s fund-raising Music For You concerts.
The 28th annual event takes place at Kidderminster Town Hall next Friday and Saturday.
Music lovers will be entertained by female voice choir, The Valentines, along with Jonathan Darby and Claire Worboys.
The popular singers will be supported by Stourport Brass Band, the West Midlands Light Orchestra and Wyre Forest Symphony Orchestra.
The flag-waving grand finale will involve all performers coming together to perform in the style of the Last Night of the Proms.
Organiser Tony Sabey said: “We need people to come to secure the future of the concerts - if we can raise money for charity from them then surely they are worth it.”
He said preparations were “going well”, adding: “Looking at the programme, I think we have a good mixed bag of performers which will appeal to all people.”
The event raised £3,750 last year for Cancer Research UK, Kemp Hospice and Kidderminster Hospital League of Friends, who will all be supported again this year.
A charity is also given a special donation each year – in 2008, North Worcestershire Bereavement Support was chosen – and this year the money will go to the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Music for You has donated £130,650 to charities since the first concert in 1982 raised £1,200.
Tickets are available from John Beard Tools and Ironmongery, Bridge Street, Kidderminster, Bewdley Books, Load Street, Mr Cleancall’s, Stourport High Street and Kidderminster Town Hall’s box office or by calling 01562 823009.
