TOTS and staff at a Kidderminster nursery are jumping for joy after receiving “outstanding” scores across the board in a recent Ofsted inspection.
Spennells Childcare was given grade one, on a scale of one to four, in every area of the report, with inspector, Fiona Robinson, saying: “The quality of teaching and learning is excellent in the nursery.”
Pat Croom, manager of the centre, said she was “delighted” with the report. She added: “We will not become complacent and will continue to provide quality care with a dedicated, hardworking team. We feel very proud to have received this recognition.”
The nursery, which cares for three to 12-year-olds, is a registered charity and opened in 2005 on the site of Heronswood Primary School.
It received £10,000 National Lottery funding earlier this year, which was used to develop the outdoor play area.
Ms Robinson said in her report: “Overall, the quality of the provision is outstanding because children enjoy exploring the rich and stimulating environment of the pre-school.”
She added: “Feedback from parents indicates that the staff are very supportive and welcoming. There are very positive relationships between parents and staff.”
