A TOTAL of 250 seasonal jobs are up for grabs at West Midland Safari Park.

Representatives from Jobcentre Plus and the safari park will be making themselves available to recruit people for the new season, which starts on February 13, 2010.

The Jobcentre Plus jobsbus will be rolling into Kidderminster town centre on Saturday, January 9 between 10am and 1pm and Monday, January 11 between 10am and 1pm.

There are 250 vacancies on offer including commercial assistants, guest services assistants, catering assistants, cleaning staff, leisure assistants and games assistants.

Michelle Link, human resource officer for the safari park, said: “Following the success of last year’s recruitment, we are very pleased to be working with Jobcentre Plus again this year and hope to attract a lot of people to the open days.

“We have a wide variety of positions for people of all ages and backgrounds, which offer flexible working hours. We are keen to employ enthusiastic people who have initiative and an outgoing attitude.”

John Chambers, account manager for Jobcentre Plus, added: “This is a great opportunity to find out what it would be like to work at the safari park and to find out about the jobs on offer.

“All new recruits will receive a full induction and training and I would urge any one who is interested to come along to the open days or to contact their local Jobcentre Plus office.”

Specialist Jobcentre Plus advisers will also be available to talk to people about a range of extra help, including support for people aged 50 plus, lone parents wanting to return to work and people with disabilities.

They can also give information on the range of financial help that may be available when starting work.

Anyone who is unable to visit the jobsbus in Kidderminster can get details of the vacancies by calling Jobseeker Direct on 0845 6060 234, by logging on the Jobcentre Plus website at jobcentreplus.gov.uk or by visiting the safari park website at wmsp.co.uk .
