A PARALYMPIAN, gold medal-winning members of a Stourport frisbee team and Kidderminster Hospital Radio volunteers raised £1,000 with a bag pack.

Just over 22 people took part at Sainsbury’s in Kidderminster on Saturday, including Matt Dimbylow, a member of the Great Britain Paralympian football team and a former pupil of Stourport High School.

A total of £200 of the money raised will go to the Dream It Believe It Achieve It charity, set up to support Paralympian sport.

About £450 will go to Stourport's Psychedelic Rhinos Ultimate Frisbee team, members of which represented Great Britain and became under-17s winners at the European championships.

The remaining £350 will go to Kidderminster Hospital Radio, represented by Michael Dimbylow, Matt Dimbylow’s father and development and fund-raising manager for the volunteer radio service.

He said: “We are really pleased with the result. It was a brilliant day. The staff at Sainsbury’s were very helpful and supportive and the Rhinos were models of good behaviour.”

He explained that the hospital radio station was going through a transformation into a more community-involved service.

He added: “A lot of people thought that when the hospital was downgraded the hospital radio had gone away but it has always been there and now we are expanding our links with the community.”

Matt Dimbylow’s next challenge is running in the London Marathon on April 25 to raise funds for the Caudwell Children charity.

A series of events are being planned by Michael Dimbylow culminating in a golf day at Wyre Forest Golf Club on September 18 for Dream It Believe It Achieve It.
