A GERMAN choir will be joined by a mime artist at a concert in Kidderminster The Michael Praetorius Choir visit St John’s Church in Bewdley Road Thursday, April 8 as part of a Worcestershire tour.
Musical leader, Friedemann Nickel has strong links to Kidderminster through the church in his home town of Gommern.
Mime actor and former clown, Angela Kunze-Beikuefner, will perform while the choir sings.
A partnership between the Kidderminster West Team Ministry and the Holy Trinity Church in Germany has run for 16 years.
David Hodgson, partnership organiser, said: “The junior choir of Halberstadt Cathedral in the former East Germany and therefore benefits from the great choral tradition of JS Bach.
“It is led by Claus-Erhard Heinrich, himself a distinguished musician and organist, who has given recitals internationally.
“The choir sings all kinds of music from Bach and Beethoven to spirituals. It promises to be a memorable evening.”
The performance begins at 7.30pm. Entrance is free but there will be a retiring collection.
