A KIDDERMINSTER mother of three was yesterday convicted of threatening to kill one of her neighbours.

Emma Herron, 35, of Wilton Avenue, Franche, used abusive language to refer to Natalie Wilmot, saying she would kill her, Kidderminster magistrates heard.

Herron, who pleaded guilty to the offence, was given a 12-month conditional discharge. If she is convicted of any other offence during that time period, she will be punished for the new offence as well as this one.

The incident took place on March 15 at about midday when another of Herron’s neighbours, Kelly Brigg, visited the Herron family home.

Herron had been arrested the night before due to a complaint made by Ms Wilmot and, having denied the allegations made, had returned home in the early hours of the morning, defence solicitor Charles Hobbs said.

When Ms Brigg arrived, Herron became “very irate and could hardly get her words out”, Julie Rosamond, prosecuting, told the court.

Herron told Ms Brigg that she would not calm down until she had killed Ms Wilmot or killed herself.

Mrs Rosamond added there had been problems between Herron and Ms Wilmot “for some time”.

Herron had a previous conviction for harrassment in July 2007 and had also received a restraining order in the past.

She had also recently been fined for not sending her children to school.

The threat to kill Ms Wilmot was made “in the heat of the moment” and was a “moment of madness”, Mr Hobbs said.

He added she had “already been punished” by being bailed to a relative’s house in Northallerton, Yorkshire, and having to leave her children behind.

Herron was also ordered to pay £100 court costs.
