THREE Wyre Forest schools performed at a musical picnic at Bishops Wood Centre, Crossway Green.

Burlish Park Primary School, Far Forest Memorial School and Sutton Park Primary school were among the schools and musicians taking part.

The event was part of Voices and Visions, a programme of arts opportunities for young people, organised by Worcestershire Arts Education.

Eco schools co-ordinator, Lynda Williams, who attended the event, said: "Pupils and parents enjoyed a wonderful evening of music-making in the beautiful surroundings of Bishops Wood.

“Members of the public wandered around the beautiful grounds of the Bishops Wood Centre listening to the wide variety of music. Singers, flautists and guitarists entertained parents as they relaxed in the sun eating picnics.

Paula Kelly Edwards, head of music at Burlish Park Primary school, added: "Pupils and parents have worked incredibly hard over the last few weeks for this event.

“Our Burlish Boomwacker Surprise created a magical atmosphere as children explored sounds and rhythms using colourful boomwackers, weaving in and out of trees and the new timber framed viking building".
