SHIVER me timbers, it is time for families to get their costumes ready for a swashbuckling pirates weekend at Stourport Canal Basins.
Wyre Forest families are being urged to start digging out their Jolly Rogers and eye patches for Pirates Weekend on Saturday, June 11 and Sunday, June 12 from noon until 4pm.
Visitors will be invited to follow the family pirate town treasure trail, from the basins but are told to take care as Stourport Yacht Club have warned that there may be a small pirate boat lurking in the upper canal basins.
The pirates of the yacht club will be inviting members of the public to sample cream teas and a table top sale.
The town’s heritage rooms will be open during the event and visitors will be able to enjoy all of Stourport’s usual riverside and canalside attractions, many of which will have a pirate theme. More information is available from stourporttown.co.uk or by calling 01299 822827.
