Kemp Hospice is holding yellow-themed family fun events on Saturday, June 11 and Sunday, June 12 at Whitlenge Gardens in Hartlebury.

Go Yellow is Kemp’s spring and summer awareness and fund-raising campaign. The colour yellow has been chosen because the sunflower is the nationwide symbol of the hospice movement.  This weekend there will be a yellow trail to follow, plus special yellow cakes in the café and much more fun activities for all the family.

Ele Millward, Kemp’s community fundraiser said: “Go Yellow is set to be a really fun campaign and there are loads of ways to get involved, whether you choose to take part as an individual or a group.”

Patients, staff and volunteers celebrated at the hospice with a special yellow day on Monday May 16, when everyone dressed up in yellow and there were yellow dishes on the menu.

The Kemp Hospice charity shops are also joining in so keep an eye out for the themed windows.

Ways to get involved include testing your brain with a yellow quiz for a chance to win a trampoline. Quiz sheets are available from Kemp Hospice reception and all the Kemp charity shops. The community can also get on board by organising a yellow walk, tea party or sunflower growing competition or dressing up.

A yellow fund-raising pack is available with lots of ideas and tips. For more information call Ele Millward on 01562 861217 or email fundraising@kemphospice.org.uk
